FISHING VIDEO TRAWL SURVEY

The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth School for Marine Science and Technology (SMAST) is conducting a video trawl survey within the Vineyard Wind Lease Area and control area. The survey transects will be spaced 2 nautical miles apart. Collecting data and working with the local fisheries, Vineyard Wind is committed to communicating and working with the local fishermen in the region during all stages of development of the proposed offshore wind farm. Data collected will provide abundance estimates for commercially important species from both areas and a comparison of the fish community between the two areas. In advance of and during survey operations, we seek contact with fishermen who are or may be working in the survey area. Please see reverse side for chart of survey area.
